Wow! What a weekend?!? It was my first full weekend off since starting my residency, and it was a great one with tons of fun and some really exciting news.....My brother, Erik, and his girlfriend, Lindsey, got ENGAGED this weekend!! YAY! I'm sure you recall from past posts that Lindsey also happens to be my best friend from Med School! I'm really sad I couldn't be there to celebrate with them the night they got engaged, but we went to dinner with them last night to celebrate. They are just so sweet, and I couldn't be more excited for them! :) No date has been set just yet, but I will keep you posted.

Now rewind to the beginning of the weekend...and all I have to say is YAY for Football Season! I LOVE Razorback football and am so glad I was off of work for the season opener this weekend. We had a great time tailgating with friends ALL day on Saturday, and I am looking forward to the rest of the season! It looks like we might actually have a football team this year!
On Sunday, we headed to the lake and my one word to sum up the trip...Comical!! First off, the boat battery died and we were stuck in the middle of the lake. Luckily we weren't far from Anna's lake house and with the help of the wind and some strong boys who helped swim the boat to the dock, we weren't stuck for long! It was one of those times you just have to laugh because getting mad just doesn't do any good! We had a fabulous dinner at Anna's thanks to her aunt and then came the best part of the night...6 of us...Drew, Anna, Sarah, Jared, Cam, and myself, all shared a hotel room with 2 double beds (Anna had family staying at the lake house). I have never laughed so hard in my life...especially when I woke up at 2:30 am with Drew snoring LOUDLY on one side of the room and Sarah yelling from the other side.."Really, is he kidding? It sounds like he is dying!" Oh what a night! We made some great memories in our few hours in that hotel room!
On Monday, we had a yummy lunch with my parents and then headed back home!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day and got more rest than I did! I guess there is always time to sleep but not always the opportunity to make the great memories I made this weekend.

Yay for the Bell-Sward engagement! I am so happy for them! Couldn't have picked a better guy for Lindsey.
