I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We certainly did and are so happy we were able to spend time with our families!

Our holiday started off with a trip to West Memphis on Tuesday to see Cam's mom and her side of the family. We went to church on Christmas Eve and then had the annual Christmas Eve party at Cam's mom's house. His mom and aunts decided it would be fun to play "dirty santa" with gag gifts. One of Cam's gifts is pictured above...to funny. I think he also got a gift with really girly cocktail napkins...poor Cam. My luck was a little better with the gifts...I got a Target gift card (one of the only non-gag gifts) and some confetti poppers for NYE! It was a lot of fun! We also got to see some of Cam's good friends from high school. His friend Nick, who was a groomsman in our wedding, came over with his 7 month old son, Emerson. He is a doll and very interactive for 7 months! Can't wait to see him again.

On Christmas morning we woke up and exchanged gifts with Cam's mom, stepdad, and sisters. Everyone got all kinds of fabulous things...thank you guys!! Then we went to Christmas Brunch over at the Bland's where Bailey got to play with her puppy friend, Albert. After brunch, we headed to Jonesboro to see Cam's dad. We exchanged gifts with them and all of us kids got a trip to Breckenridge, CO in March with Cam's dad! YAY...I can't wait! After gifts, we went to Barry and Sherry's house for the Deacon family Christmas dinner. This year almost everyone was there except a couple of Cam's cousins. We missed getting to see them, but we still had a lot of fun and great food!
The day after Christmas, we started off with a brunch at Cam's grandparents' before heading off to Hot Springs Village to see my family. My parents, my brother, and his girlfriend, Lindsey, (who happens to be my best friend in medical school) were waiting on us when we got there. Bailey was excited to be there too because she had 4 other dogs to play with. My parents have a black Lab, Cooper and a golden retriever, Samson. Erik has a chocolate lab, Layla, and Lindsey has a dachshund, Henry! So basically, our family has almost every retriever there is, and its funny that Linds has a dachshund because growing up we had dachshunds.
Anyway, we opened gifts with my parents and had dinner. We all got so much stuff...thanks guys!! In the middle of all this, Lindsey had to leave because her brother's wife was about to be induced to have their FIRST baby! It was a little unexpected so she had to leave pretty quickly, but the next day she became an aunt for the first time to her nephew, Zane. Congrats Bell family...what a wonderful Christmas gift!
On Saturday, the whole family went to see Marley and Me...fitting since we are clearly dog lovers. And on top of that Lab lovers!! Anyway, the movie was really good...funny, sad, and everything in between. I had read the book and cried and even though I knew the ending....I still cried, as did the rest of my family. For anyone who loves their dog as much as Cam and I do, the movie is so touching. It is unexplainable the way a dog can bring so much joy to your life...and only dog lovers can really understand that bond. I'm just worried because if I love my dog this much, I can't even imagine what I will feel like when I have children! Anyway, the movie is great... go see it, but bring some Kleenex!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and have a Happy New Year!
